Sodium hexametaphosphate (SHMP) is essentially a chemical composition hexamer (NaPO3)6. It is also called the metaphosphate of Graham’s salt or hexasodium. During acidic circumstances, it is smooth and granular in shape and hydrolysis in aqueous solution. It is water-soluble, while organic solvents are insoluble. It is a sequestrant binding with ions of calcium.
